What does it mean by nerve cell in Biology? I am very much confused about the science subject. It will be really helpful if you can give me the explanation and also tell me from where we can refer the topics and learn easily. Thank you.

# Human body is made of many organic system such as nervous system, respiratory system, reproductive system, digestive system, circulatory system etc. The cells of nervous system are termed as "neuron" or "nerve cell".


# The primary function of a neuron or nerve cell is to transmit message from one part to another part of the body. Nerve cells basically involves in coordination of various body parts.


# There are three types of neurons or nerve cells:

* Unipolar neurons
* Bipolar neurons
* Multipolar neurons


# The structure and parts of a nerve cell is as follow:

* Dendrites
* Axon
* Soma
