What is the eligibility to apply for West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS)?
I have just completed my BA honors in English. Am I eligible to apply for West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) exams? When would be exam held? When should I apply for it? What is the application charges?

The minimum eligibility criteria required to apply for WBCS (West Bengal Civil Services) examination are as below :-
* You must have the nationality of India. * Your age must lie within 21 years to 36 years in case of Group A and Group C services while for Group B services, your age must be within 20 years to 36 years. Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms. * You must have completed graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognised university. Proficiency in Bengali is also desired. The WBCS Prelims is usually held in January or February every year with the application form being filled in the November of last year. As per the last year examination, the cost of application for candidates from General/BC and other states is Rs 210/- while it is Nil for candidates from SC/ST/PWD category candidates of West Bengal.
