IPS(Indian Police service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year.You should have graduation degree from a recognized university.
To become an IPS officer eligiblity criteria : Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Any graduation degree in enough to apply for Indian Police Service. This is the requirement as mentioned in the official website of Union Public Service Commission which is responsible for conducting the entrance exam for IPS.
Indian Police Service officer is responsible to maintain law and order in the state. Although they are recruited by the Union government, they serve at the state level. IPS officers are given responsibility to stop drug/human traffickling. They also need to maintain peace during the riots/violence. IPS officers are also given charge of VIP security. To become IPS officer you must appear for Civil Service Exam by the Union Public Service Commission. Here is the criteria to appear for the entrance exam. Eligibility 1. Only Indian Nationals can apply. 2. A Bachelor degree in any discipline. 3. There is no minimum percentage requirement. Age Limit 1. General - 21 to 30 years. 2. OBC - 21 to 33 years. 3. SC/ST - 21 to 35 years. Physical Requirements Height: 1. Male - 165 cm for General and 160 cm for ST. 2. Female - 150 cm for General and 145 cm for ST. Chest: 1. Male - Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm 2. Female - Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm Eye Sight: 1. 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye 2. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye |

Civil services exam is conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various all India services including IAS , IPS , IFS , IRS Selection Process : Preliminary examination Main Examination Interview Educational Qualification : Complete a degree from a recognized university age limit : Min of age 21 years & Max of 30 years for General candidates 3 years age relaxation for OBC 5 years for age relaxation for SC/ST Number of Attempts : General candidates : 4 OBC candidates : 7 SC/ST candidates : no limit thank you.............................. |
