The TANCET application form will be issued on 01-02-2012
The last date of submission of application form at coordinating centers is 23-02-2012
The last date of submission of application form at Chennai Center is 25-02-2012

The application forms will be available online on the official website of Anna University.

TANCET Important dates :-

• Date of Registration through Internet :- 01.02.12
• Last date for Registration through Internet :- 23.02.12
• Last date for Registration at Chennai Centre (registered through Internet) :- 25.02.2012
• Date of M.B.A examination :- 31.03.12 F.N
• Date of M.C.A examination :- 31.03.12 A.N
• Date of M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan : 01.04.12

The application forms is available in two modes :-

1)Spot Registration
2)Internet Registration.

If you are interested to Register TANCET Application then you have a following documents to fill the TANCET Application forms.

Spot Registration :-

• Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
• Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
• Cash (or) Demand Draft.
• The SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu have to produce a copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) for availing fee concession.

Internet Registration :-

• Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
• Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
• Demand Draft.
• An attested copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) issued by the competent authority of Government of Tamilnadu (for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu).

The Anna University (Chennai) conducts the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET), which is an entrance examination for joining in MCA/MBA/ME/M.tech in good colleges of tamilnadu.

This year, the TANCET exam is conducted on MARCH 31, 2012 AND APRIL 1, 2012.

TANCET 2012 ELIGIBILITY

MBA:
A pass in any recognised bachelor’s degree with 10+2+3/4 years pattern or a pass in any degree with 10+3 (diploma) plus 3 years pattern or B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm degree or AIME with 2 years regular full time teaching experience/industrial experience in the relevant field after passing all the subjects
Candidates should have obtained 50% marks in the degree examinations (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)

MCA:
A pass in any in any recognised bachelor’s degree with 10+2+3/4 years pattern, or a pass in 10+3 (diploma) plus 3 years pattern with Mathematics at +2 level with Mathematics as one of the subjects
Candidates should have obtained 50% marks in the qualifying examinations (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)


M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination. B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch degree programme; or B.Pharm/B.Sc (Agri/Forestry/Horticulture/Fishery) degree programme; or Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science/Arts, which are prescribed; or M.Sc (5 years) Integrated degree programme; or B.Sc (3 years) in IT related major courses and M.Sc (2 years) in IT related major courses


TANCET 2012 Important Dates

Online registration and issue of application form in person: 1st February, 2012

Last date for online registration and issue of application at co-ordinating centres: 25th February, 2012

Date of entrance test
MBA: 31st March, 2012, Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
MCA: 31st March, 2012, Saturday, 02.30 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.
M.E./ M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan: 01st April, 2012, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon

Candidates have to appear for the entrance test at the allotted centres at their own cost and risk

one of my friend has not registered for the TANCET 31 MARCH 2012., so is there any possibility to register on or after 28 FEBUARY....??

The Anna University has already released the formal notification for TANCET.

Please see the TANCET website http://www.annauniv.edu/tancet2012/ for online booking, booklets, etc. Online registration was available till 23rd Feb only. Physical copies were to be received upto 25th Feb.

There was also a provision for Spot physical registration at 15 centres in Tamilnadu.

As per the original schedule, the dates for registration are over. However, the University has extended the registration at Chennai upto 29th Feb. So, if you have not done it so far, please avail the extended opportunity and rush to complete the registration.


Exam for MBA and MCA is on 31st March and M. Tech, etc is on 1st April. Results will be declared by 4th April.

Detailed syllabus has also been given. Please note that Candidates admitted through lateral entry in degree courses are not eligible except, B.E./B.Tech. degree courses and Candidates with B.E./B.Tech./M.C.A./M.Sc. degrees obtained through week end courses and B.E./B.Tech. through distance mode are not eligible. There is no mention of any age limit.

For each of three exams (ie, MBA, MCA and M. Tech), the fees is Rs. 500/-. SC/ST candidates need to pay only Rs. 250/- per exam.

Each exam is of two hours duration. The questions are of multiple choice. There is negative marking for wrong answers.

The TANCET score will be used for admission in Anna University, Govt and Govt aided colleges, and single window counselling seat quota of self financing colleges.
