What is the lower and upper age criteria for LKG in CBSE affiliated schools?

Hi, my son's date of birth is 13th December, 2015. Is he eligible for LKG admission in any schools affiliated to CBSE Board for 2020-21 academic session? Is the age criteria same for boys and girls?

As per RTE 2009 Act, a child must have completed 6 years of age while taking admission in 1st standard. So, for LKG, he/she have completed around 4 years.

Since, your son's DOB is 13th December, 2015, so for session 2020-21, his age in April 2020 will be around 4 years 3 months.

So, ideally he is eligible for studying in LKG standard and further there will be no issues while taking admission for Class 1 also.
