Apart from all those exams already listed in the replies above.
There is Maharastra CET exam. Its a good exam that is for entrance into some very good colleges. But only 15% of the seats are available for non maharastra people. And there is ATMA exam also.
(Applications are closed for almost all the other major exams admission like XAT,FMS,NMAT,SNAP......listed above for 2010)

Vrious institute also offers direct admission with 100% schlorship to meritorious students.

For example-Amity university.

Calcutta university. etc

There is CAT exam other than MAT for the admission in MBA of the best colleges.
