For S.I. those candidates who qualify the written examination will have to go through Physical Endurance Test (PET) and medical test and then are called for Interview

The candidate must qualify these physical standards For the post of Sub-Inspector & Assistant Sub-Inspector



Some other standards are -

- 100 meters race in 16 seconds for male candidates and 100 meters race in 18 seconds for female candidates.
-Long Jump : 3.65 metres for male candidates and 2.7 metres for female candidates. Only 3 chances will be given for these.
-High Jump : 1.2 metres for male candidates and 0.9 meters for female candidates again this must be achieved within 3 chances.
- The distant vision of eye sight must be 6/6 and 6/9 at least without glasses.

The eligibility criteria for General candidates the post of Intelligence Officer in NCB are -
The male candidates must be at least 165 cm in Height.
The must have a chest of 77 cm expandable upto 5cm i.e. 82 cm
The female candidates must be at last 157 cm in height.

PET-
-The male candidates must be able to walk 1.6 km in 15 minutes and the female candidates must be able to walk 1.0 km in 15 minutes
-The male candidates must be able ride a cycle for 8 km in 30 minutes and the female candidates must be able to ride cycle for 5.0 km in 30 minutes.
- The distant vision of eye sight must be 6/6 and 6/9 at least without glasses.

Dear FRIEND,
Physical tests include:

A initial 5 kilometer run which should be completed in 25 minutes (* impossible without practice)
A 100 meter sprint which should be completed in 15 seconds. (* easy)
A long jump in which a candidate should jump a distance of 3.80 meters (* easy)
A shot put throw which should be thrown a distance of 5.60 meters (* practice makes it easy)
A high jump in which a jump of 1.2 meters is required (* practice) and
An 800 meter run which should be completed in 170 second



a) Height: 165 cms (for men), 150 cms (for women)

Height relaxable for Hill men and Tribals: 5 cms

b) Chest: 76 cms with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates)

c) Vision: Eye-sight (with or without glasses)

Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

Physical qualifications required for SI

The physical standards are same for candidates belonging to any general, OBC as well as Sc/St category.


The minimum height required for the post of Sub-Inspector in state police is 167 cm.


The minimum required weight is 51.5 kilograms.

The only thing relaxed for the candidates belonging to Sc/St category is the maximum age limit, which is 32 years.

For candidates belonging to general category, the maximum age limit is 27 years and for candidates belonging to OBC category its 30 years.

For more information, you may refer to the notification published by the public service commission of your state.

Chest for Male Candidates : 80 - 85 cms

Height for Female Candidates : 157 cms

Chest for Female candidates : Not Applicable

Physical Efficiency Test for SI


For Male candidates only

100 meters race in 16 seconds
1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
Long Jump : 3.65 metres in 3 chances
High Jump : 1.2 metres in 3 chances
Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chances

For Female candidates only

100 metres race in 18 seconds
800 metres race in 4 minutes
Long Jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances
High Jump: 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances
