What is the procedure of CS ? How many years of it ? What is the result of it in india ?

The Institute of Company Secretary of India (ICSI) is statutory body formulated by parliament of India to regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India.

Company Secretary course can be broadly devided into three major stages:

Stage-I Foundation Programme

Stage-II Executive Programme

Stage-III Professional Programme

CS examination is conducted by ICSI twice in a year in the months of June and December. Result are also declared within a maximum period of two months from the date of examination generally in the month of August and February for June and December examinations respectively.

Admission to both Foundation and Executive programmes of CS course is open throughout the year. Candidates are required to register minimum eight months prior to rspective examinations.

CS course is a professional course which is designed to carter needs of modern corporate laws and governance. Sixteen months training is also required to be completed by candidates in order to successful completion of course. We can say that an average duration for successful completion of CS course will be around four years including sixteen months training.
