Re: What is the qualification for IPS and IAS?
Civil Services Examination is conducted for IAS and IPS. But to appear for this exam you will have to finish graduation. Currently you are in second year of Bachelor of Arts, you should wait till completing graduation to appear for it.
The qualification requirement is same for Indian Police Service and the Indian Administrative Service. The only difference is the physical criteria. There is no such criteria for the Indian Administrative Service but for Indian Police Service you should meet the criteria. If you are interested in Civil Services Examination that will have to wait till completing graduation and after that you can apply for the exam. But the registration is done in Februaruy/March. Although there is no such rule. IAS/IPS Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. You should have Bachelor's degree in any discipline. 3. Marks in graduation do not matter. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years for the exam. 5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. Physical Criteria 1. There isn't any for IAS. IPS Criteria 1. Chest criteria is 84 cm (Male) and 79 cm (Female) with 5 cm expansion. 2. Height should be 150 cm (Female) and 165 cm (Male). 3. There is 5 cm relaxation for Schedule Tribe. |
