Eligibility condition for Main Examination is 19 years complete and Graduate of any discipline.
The candidate must hold a degree from a Indian University or other educational institute deemed as a University.
or
you should be 33 years of age for general category
and 35 years for obc category and
38 years for sc/st and other minority categories
you should be a graduate to attemot this exam

(Police Sub Inspector) Examination Syllabus for 2013

Preliminary Examination : This is the very first step, it also known as General Ability Test which is based on syllabus is of 10th std. in both in English and Marathi mediums which is of multiple choice 150 Questions. Candidates who are successful clear Preliminary Exam are eligible for Main Examination. Prelim Preliminary Examination consist of total 150 Questions, 300 Marks and Timing is 11/2 hours.

Main Examination : The second step is Main Examination which is of multiple choice type of questions. You should be minimum 19 years old and maximum 28 years old
Age relaxations for reserved castes is till 33 years

There are 2 papers in PSI exam
They are

• preliminary exam
• Mains exam
