B.E in Power Plant Technology
The course of B.E in Power Plant Technology is among the most prestigious courses of in the field of engineering. This needs lots of hard work as well as intelligence to get through it. This course involves study of some parts of mechanical and electrical engineering also.
The students acquires gross knowledge on maintains and repairing of thermal power plants. This involves the study of dynamos which initiates power production in thermal power plants, study of boilers, study of motors (both a.c and d.c), study of pipelines, temperature control of the boilers which is very essential for the production, to prevent fuel losses in generators, etc.
Eligibility:
The candidates applying for the course of B.E in Power Plant Technology should hold a pass certificate of 10 and 10+2 form any recognized University or board of the country. The candidates must qualify the state joint entrance exams (JEE) or may even enter the course through All India Joint Entrance Exam (AIJEE). The minimum percentage of marks to sit in these exams is 50%. Candidates can also join after completion of their diploma courses.
Course outlook:
B.E in Power Plant Technology is a course having a span of 4 years, which includes two semesters per year, i.e. a total of eight exams in the span of the course.
The course involves the study of Industrial Cleaning (Hydroblastion to 10,000 psi and Industrial vacuum), Erection and repair (of boiler, stokers, pressure vessels, etc.), thermodynamics, etc.
Job prospects:
The students after completion of this course can get high profile jobs with fair salary in private firms. Candidates can also work as engineers in government sectors. They can even work as a teacher in colleges or Universities.
