For admission to MBA and equivalent programmes of the various participating institutes you can sit for Management Aptitude Test or MAT which is conducted by the National Entrance Test conducted by All India Management Aptitude Testing Service. It is an All India Entrance Test and the second best MBA Entrance Exam after CAT.

The advantage of MAT is that it is conducted for four times ever year in the months of February, May, September and December. MAT is a paper-based as well as computer-based test. You have the option to choose any one of them whichever sounds feasible to you.

September exam's notification is already out. While the paper based test has been proposed to take place on 1st September, computer-based test will take place on 7th September. From listed branches of Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, listed Study Centres of AIMA or from AIMA, New Delhi you can purchase the MAT application form by giving Rs. 1200. The amount can also be paid online or you send a DD of Rs. 1200 in favor of AIMA. Various options are available for the convenience of the candidates.

MAT eligibility criteria is pretty simple. To give this exam you need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. 40% of marks at graduation level is more than enough to sit for this exam. Final year students are also eligible to give this exam.
