I am appearing for 12th exam in March 2011
Can i apply for the IIT exam in any two consecutive years after completing my 12th exam. I want to take a break of 1 year after HSC exam and then want to appear for IIT

You can appear for IIT along with 12th and then consecutive next year. So you can take one year gap to prepare for IIT exam. Most people who secure very high rank in IIT JEE, do take a year gap and prepare for IIT either with the help of coaching classes or self preparation
