Why AIME is not considered as a degree for doing MBA from IGNOU?

Why AMIE (Engineering from Institute of Engineers) is not in the graduation list of NTA for doing MBA distance learning from IGNOU? What is the legal status of AMIE? Is it not UGC approved?
