Default Re: Why RBI keeps CRR from bank?

CRR is credit reserve ration. It is the amount of funds, which every bank have to keep with RBI, generally it is 4-5% of total capital of Bank.
It is a regulation of RBI , to keep the financial system robust against bankruptcy, economic recession.

It is a kind of protection RBI assures citizens, maintaining that their saving are safe .
In case of any failure, RBI repays all account holders their money in case of discrepancy out of this fund.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
