Age limit to apply for UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020?


Hello Sir/Madam, I am planning to apply for UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination of 2020. But before that I would like to know about the age criteria, that is, what is the age limit for applying in this examination? Please let me know about the age criteria immediately.

The age limit to apply for UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 is minimum 21 years and the maximum age is 32 years. The candidate must have born not earlier than 2nd August 1988 and not later than 1st August 1999. The age relaxation for SC/ST category is 5 years, for OBC it is 3 years, for Defence Services Personnel is 3 years, for Ex-Servicemen it is 5 years and for PWD it is 10 years.

UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 :

* Age limit

Minimum age of candidates should be 21 years.

Maximum age of candidates should be 32 years.

There is age relaxation for reserved categories as,
SC/ST for 5 years.
OBC for 3 years.
No age relaxation for Economically weaker section in UPSC Civil Services Exam.

Civil Service examination is conducted for recruitment as an I.A.S Officer.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

The age limit is 21-32 years as on 01st August of year appearing in the examination.

Relaxation of 3 years and 5 years in upper age limit for reserved category.

Age limit to apply for UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 are as follows:-
Minimum age- 21 years
Maximum age- 32 years
Age relaxation for reserved category candidates-
SC/ST- up to 5 years
OBC- up to 3 years
Defense Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities- up to 3 years.
Ex-Servicemen- up to 5 years
PwD candidates- up to 10 years
ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service- up to 5 years.
