Re: Can a retired Gazetted Officer attest marks Certificates?
No, I am sorry to say that being a retired Gazetted officer, you are not authorized to attest certificates as it would not be valid officially. Attested copies of only those gazette officers is recognized who are not yet retired from their post.

Re: Can a retired Gazetted Officer attest marks Certificates?
A retired Gazetted Officer can not attest any certificate so can not issue character certificate. Only those are allowed who are still working as a Gazetted Officer. The reason being to attest any certificate it requires signature, stamp & official seal. You can sign but from where you will get Stamp & Official seal. Stamp & Official seal one can use in his service only not after retirement. So, you cannot attest.

Re: Can a retired Gazetted Officer attest marks Certificates?
Isn't it possible that a retiring gazetted officer is issued with a stamp/official seal adding the word 'retired' after his designation and the same stamp be affixed on his retirement card for subsequent comparison /verification ?

Re: Can a retired Gazetted Officer attest marks Certificates?
The attestation of mark certificates by a retired Gazetted Officer may depend on the specific regulations and guidelines set by the issuing authority or institution. In general, the attestation of documents is typically performed by currently serving Gazetted Officers who hold the authority to attest official documents.
However, it's worth noting that rules and regulations can vary between different countries, regions, and organizations. Therefore, it is advisable to consult the specific guidelines provided by the institution or authority responsible for issuing or accepting the mark certificates. They will be able to provide accurate information regarding who can attest the documents, including whether retired Gazetted Officers are eligible to do so. |
