Profile:

North Eastern Railway is one among the sixteen railway zones in the country of India and the headquarters of the organization is located at Gorakhpur with divisions at Izatnagar, Varanasi and Lucknow. It was established in the year 1952 on the 14th of April by putting together two railway systems of Assam Railway and Oudh & Tirhut railway. In the year 1958 on the 15th of January, it was divided into two zones namely the North Frontier Railway and North Eastern Railway. The organization has 486 railway stations and around 3402 route kilometers.

Job Profile:

For the post of Safaiwala, NER calls for application from retired military men for a total number of 32 posts and the pay scale fixed for the post of  Rs. 5200-20200 apart from GP of Rs. 1800

Eligibility:

Candidates must be in the following age group as on 1st of January 2011:

In the case of candidates falling under general category the age requirement is 33 years + the number of years of service in military + three years.

In the case of candidates falling under other backward category the age requirement is 36 years + the number of years of service in military + three years.

In the case of candidates falling under scheduled tribe/scheduled caste category the age requirement is 38 years + the number of years of service in military + three years.

Qualification:

Ex-Serviceman who has retired after 15 years of service.

Must have passed Army class-1 certificate or equivalent.

Selection Process:

Selection of candidates will be on the basis of  past experience, merit after verifying original certificates. The organization is not going to conduct any physical efficiency test or interview or written examination and a candidate will be called for verification of original documents only when he meets the eligibility requirement.
