Eligibility criteria required to apply for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Combined GEO Scientist Exam 2020 is Candidate must have passed Master's Degree in relevant discipline from a recognised university. Candidate age must lie between 21 to 32 years. Upper age relaxation are available for reserved category candidates.

The eligibility to apply for the UPSC Combined Geo Scientist is that candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university.

°°° The applicant should be an Indian citizen. Subjects of Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee who have migrated to India before 1st January 1962 are also eligible to apply for the examination company.
°°° For geologist: Applicant should have done mastery in any of the 1 subjects: Mineral exploration Geo exploration Geological science Geology °°° Age limit: The candidate should be between 21 years to 32 years of age. Relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC candidates and 5 years to SC and ST candidates. 10 years to physically handicapped candidates and 5 years to Jammu and Kashmir candidates. The educational qualification for different posts is different. 1. For Geologist (Group ‘A’, Geological Survey of India)- The applicant should have done Masters in any one of the subjects: Mineral Exploration Geo- Exploration Geological Science Geology Age-Limit The age of the candidate should vary between 21 to 32 years. There is an age relaxation for reserved candidates The applicant should be an Indian Citizen. Subjects of Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan Refugees who have relocated to India before first January 1962 are qualified to apply for the test. Individuals of Indian Origin from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam or East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Zaire) can apply for the test. |

The Combined Geo-scientist and Geologist exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit suitable candidates for the GSI (Geographical Survey of India) and Central Water Board. The candidates are selected for Group ‘A’ posts in Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist and Group ‘B’ post of Junior Hydrologists. The educational qualification for different posts is different. 1. For Geologist (Group ‘A’, Geological Survey of India)- The applicant should have done Masters in any one of the subjects: Mineral Exploration Geo- Exploration Geological Science Geology 2. For Chemist (Group ‘A’, Geological Survey of India)- The applicant should have done Masters in any one of the subjects from a UGC recognised college/ university: M. Sc. in Applied Chemistry M.
