To become an I.A.S officer, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

You will become eligible to apply for the examination in final year of the B.Tech course.
To appear in the examination and for the final selection you will have to make a proper strategy and stick to it to qualify in the examination. I will first suggest you to refer the syllabus and PYQs to get information about the examination pattern. Recommended books are :- NCERTs ( Std 6th -12th ). LAXMIKANT - Indian Polity. BIPIN CHANDRA - MODERN INDIA. RAKESH SINGH - INDIAN ECONOMY. NEWSPAPER / MONTHLY MAGAZINE. These are among the most compulsory books to be read to qualify in the examination.
