Instructions for IAS preparation from school level itself?
Hi, my name is Adithya R Nair of 8th standard in Navajeevan bethany vidyalaya, nalanchira, Trivandrum, Kerala. I wish to be an IAS OFFICER IN MY FUTURE . I WISH TO BE AN IAS OFFICER NOT LIKE A SIMPLE IAS OFFICER, but the IAS officer who must be a part of the history and I am taking preparations from now itself. Please give me the instructions.

IAS examination is one of the toughest examination of India which requires hard work with proper guidance and strong determination to crack even after failure.
Tips to prepare from school level: 1. Develop a habit of reading daily newspaper either The Hindu or The Indian Express. Initially, you will face problem but once you are habitual, it will be an easy task. Take help of dictionary to get command over vocabulary. 2. Do not ignore social science subjects, read it whole heartedly. Read NCERT books of social science subjects from standard 6th to 12th with conceptual clarity. 3. Select your stream as per optional subject which you like to take for Mains exam. 4. Never give up. Read, practice, revise and again read many times to crack the exam. |

Please remember the eligibility criteria for UPSC civil service examination that is 21 years and a graduation in any subject is necessary and you should also take note that final year students can also appear for IAS examination. Keep writing and the speed of writing is very important and aspirants just out of college will have a big advantage here as they are not out of touch with pen and paper when compared to working professionals. In order to become an IAS officer, you have to complete your 10th, 12th and graduation at first. There are no subjects or stream restrictions to become an IAS officer. You can choose any stream in your bachelor's degree. After completing graduation, you can get admission in IAS coaching institutes and prepare for the Civil Services examination. The tutors in the coaching centres will guide you with the required books and study materials for the preparation.

You must have to appear in the Civil Services examination which is conducted by the UPSC in order to become an IAS officer.
The above mentioned examination is tough to qualify, you need to focus in it with a serious motive to qualify in it. Candidates those who have completed their Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University scoring a minimum of 50% of marks in it can apply for the above mentioned examination. Candidates age must be in between 21 to 30 years. It will be better for you to join a coaching center for the preparation of the examination. Do follow the tricks and tips taught by the professional faculties. Make notes of all subjects and revise them in daily basis. Do connect yourself with the daily and latest news to make your General Knowledge strong. |
