Economics is considered as an evergreen subject due to its good career scope in both the Government and Private sectors. Since, you are interested to appear in the Government requirement exam. Every so many Government exams are held in various fields. Being a BA Economics Graduate you can apply for Government requirements exams like,

You can apply for several Government exams . Among those some are given below.

1) You can apply for the Civil services exam (IAS , IPS)
To apply for the exam , you shouldhave completed your graduation from a Recognied University .

2) You can apply for the Ibps bank clerk and Ibps bank po exam to join in Banking sector.
Ibps will recruit the candidates for 19 different Nationalzed Banks.
For Ibps bank clerk exam , Minimum age shouldbe 18 years.
For ibps bank po exam , minimum age shouldbe 21 years


3) You can apply for the Defence services entrance exam to join in Defence services.

CDS exam - Combined defence service
AFCAT - Airforce common admission test

AFCAT exam is to join in Airforce

Indian Railways - Assistant Station Master Exam, Ticket Collector Examination, Goods Guard Examination, Railway Police Force Exam, Announcer exam, Commercial Clerk exam and Group D posts examinations.

Indian Civil Service Examination - IAS/ IPS/ IFS/ IRS and other posts are recruited through this examination.

SSC - Staff Selection Commission examinations - Combined Graduate Level Exam for Group B and C posts, Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam, Sub Inspector Examination and Multi Tasking Staff examination.

IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel selection - Probationary Officer exam, Clerks Assistant exam, Regional Rural Banks - Officer Scale I and Office Assistant examination.

If you complete your masters degree in economics then you will be eligible for UPSC IES examination - Indian Economic Service examination and that would also be a better option for you and as far as my thoughts are concerned, you should go to Banking sector because you can utilize your knowledge of Economics in Banking sector and may grow well.

I have completed masters in economics (specialisation in Energy economics) which government examinations should I apply for. I had 60% in 10th, 75% in 12th, 59% in Graduation and 75% in post graduation.
