The recruitment process for the Combined Defense Services for candidates of any discipline is through:

>>Written test.

>>Service Selection Board.

In order to appear for the exam, you must meet the eligibility criteria for the exam. For Indian Military academy and Officer's Training academy, candidate from any bachelor's degree can apply for the exam.

For Indian Naval academy and Airforce academy, bachelor's degree with physics or mathematics or bachelor of engineering is required to apply for the exam. The age limit for the IMA is 19-24 years, for the INA is 19-22 years, for the OTA is 19-25 years and for the AFA is 19-23 years.

Being a computer science engineering candidate, you are eligible for all academies under Combined defense services. For any more details about the CDS exam, Click here . You can download the previous years papers also from UPSC website.

The recruitment process of candidates of any discipline is same. It does not matter whether you are from engineering stream or science stream. First you should satisfy the eligibility criteria, as you are engineering graduate, you are eligible for all academies of defense through CDS.

Second your age must be minimum of 19 years and must not have crossed 25 years. After that you can apply for the examination when notification is out. Notification for CDS II will be out in August. You can apply online at www.upsconline.nic.in.

There are two stages you need to clear to get recruited in any of the academies like IMA, OTA, INA, AFA etc:

Written test.

Service Selection board.
