Which subjects do I choose after my 10 std to secure a career in the IFS in the future?

Subjects to choose after 10th standard to secure a career in IFS are;

You can choose Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as your intermediate subject combination.

You should complete your graduation with BSc course to be eligible for IFS.

Once you complete graduation follow given procedure to join IFS.

Register for Indian Forest Services examination conducted by UPSC.

Go through written examination and crack it with good marks.

Go through interview and crack it.

Secure your position in final merit list to secure position in IFS.

As you are interested to become an IFS officer, for this you have to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised University. But in Science stream it will be more help full to get the jobs as you will be strong in study.

Age limit:-
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.
There is a age relaxation for SC/ ST and OBC candidates.

Number of attempts:-
General - 4 time
OBC - 7 times
SC/ST - Unlimited

The required minimum educational qualification to appear for I.F.S examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category. So, you have to pursue the bachelor degree to become eligible to appear in the examination.

The subjects which you can choose after class 10th to secure a career in IFS is science stream include Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics or agriculture subject from a recognized board. Thereafter in graduation, you can choose any one subject as Chemistry/Botany/Geology/Mathematics/Statistics/Physics/Zoology/Agriculture/Forestry/Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science/bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university. To apply for the civil service examination a candidate's minimum age should be 21 years and the maximum age should not be more than 32 years for Indian Forest Service and for Indian Foreign Service it is 30 years.
