IES is a acronym of Indian Engineering Service. At the time of joining days, they will be posted as Assistant Executive Engineer or Assistant Director. After 4-5 years, they will be promoted to the rank of Executive Engineer or Director. Thus, IES officers are promoted to the higher level. This kind of works are offered in UPSC IES .
