Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya (RMV) is a state open university in West Bengal, India. It was established in 1997 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. RMV offers various courses in arts, science, commerce, and vocational subjects at the secondary, higher secondary, and undergraduate levels through distance learning mode. The university also offers diploma and certificate courses in different fields.

It is important to note that while RMV is recognized by the UGC, it is not a regular university in the traditional sense. It is an open university that provides distance education, meaning that students do not have to attend classes on campus and can study at their own pace.
