Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics is Four and half years (including 6 months Internship) i.e.4½ years Full Time Course.
Please find below the Course structure of this course. In the 1st year the subjects will be as follows :- 1. Anatomy 2. Physiology 3. Workshop technology & Material Science 4. Applied mechanics & Strength of materials 5. Basic Electronics 6. Biomechanics – I 7. Prosthetics -I 8. Orthotics -I In the 2nd year the subjects will be as follows :- 1. Pathology 2. Orthopaedics, Amputation Surgery & Imaging Sciences 3. Community Rehabilitation & Disability Prevention 4. Psychology and Sociology 5. Biomechanics – II 6. Prosthetics – II 7. Orthotics – II 8. Pharmacology In the 3rd year the subjects will be as follows :- 1. Assistive Technology 2. Computer Science & Graphical Communication 3. Research methodology& Bio Statistics 4. Biomechanics – III 5. Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics is a 3 year duration course. Prosthetists provides artificial limbs to people who have all or part of a natural limb missing. Orthotists provide supportive braces and splints to people with various conditions of the limbs or spine.
