Honourable sir,
i am a class xii final exam. Appearing arts' student from j.b college, jorhat ,assam.i have no maths. In this exam. I intend to take admission in a good college of economics under delhi university for b.a.(hons.). Am i able to get admission without maths. ? Kindly inform.

Sorry, you cannot get the admission into B.A Honors Economics in Delhi University without the Mathematics subject in the previous academics that is 10+2.

The reason behind this is, in Delhi University the Bachelors in Economics has a strong mathematical orientation and component.

So you should have enough knowledge in Mathematics and Statistical tools.

Eligibility Criteria for BA hons in Economics is:

70% in English and 75% in Mathematics in 10+2 for General Category Students.

68% in English and 73% in Mathematics in 10+2 for OBC Category Students.

How ever if your 10+2 have any of the following subject then you may have chance to get the admission without mathematics.

Enterpreneurship

Engineering Drawing / Mechanical Drawing

Informatics Practices

Computer Scince / Computer Applications / Web-multi media.

Environmental Studies / Education / Science

My best of four subjects percentage comes to 91.75% without taking Maths in the results declared yesterday. Which Course can I opt for in Delhi University. I want to do Business Economics without Maths. Please Advice I am really in a Big Fix. Regards,

No, it is not possible to apply for Economics honors without mathematics in Delhi University. For economics honors, it is necessary to have good knowledge of Mathematics and statistics. So, you cannot apply for this course.

DU conducts an entrance exam for all courses. And in economics honors, they put some questions related to mathematics and statistics in question answer.

As you have no mathematics in 12th class then how you can solve those questions. So, Sorry you cannot apply for Economics honors in DU.
