Biology is a vast and ever-evolving field of study that offers a wide range of career opportunities. The scope of biology in India is expected to grow in the coming 4-5 years, as the country focuses on developing its healthcare and research sectors.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in biology, there are a number of courses that you can take after 12th grade. Some of the most popular options include:
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSc Biology): This is a three-year undergraduate degree program that provides students with a foundation in the major areas of biology, such as botany, zoology, and microbiology.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.): This is a four-year undergraduate degree program that prepares students to work as pharmacists.
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH): This is a five-year undergraduate degree program that prepares students to work as veterinarians.
  • Master of Science in Biology (MSc Biology): This is a two-year postgraduate degree program that provides students with advanced training in a specific area of biology, such as molecular biology, cell biology, or ecology.
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Biology (PhD Biology): This is a three- to five-year doctoral degree program that prepares students for research careers in biology.
The course that you choose will depend on your interests and career goals. If you are unsure of what you want to do, it is a good idea to talk to a career counselor or a biology professor.
Here are some of the career options that you can pursue with a degree in biology:
  • Biomedical Scientist: Biomedical scientists conduct research on human health and disease. They work in hospitals, universities, and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Biotechnologist: Biotechnologists use living organisms to create new products and processes. They work in a variety of industries, including healthcare, agriculture, and environmental science.

Scope of Biology is never going to lessen in the country.

We will always need doctors and physicians. Yes, it is true that at present the seats are less, but they are ever increasing.

Therefore, the scope of biology is ever increasing. Further, not only doctors, there are many fields in which you can excel after pursuing Biology in 12th standard.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
