What Should I pursue B.Com or B.Com Hons to pursue CA course?

Hello sir, I have passed 12th Class with 79.8% marks in Commerce stream. Can I pursue CA course after completion of B.Com course? If yes, which is preferable between B.Com and B.Com Hons to pursue CA Course? Please let me know as early as possible.

Yes, you can pursue CA course after completion of your B.Com course. You can choose any B.Com or B.Com (H) of your interest as you can do CA course after completion of any of this course.

If you complete your B.Com course with minimum aggregate of 55% marks from a recognised board, you can directly register for IPCC level of CA course without appearing in CPT examination else you need to appear in CPT examination to get admission in CA course..

You can pursue CA even without taking admission in B.Com degree course by cracking CA CPT. After qualifying CPT you will get admission in CA IPCC directly without any degree.
For B.Com candidates with 55% marks there is direct admission in CA IPCC. Hence, you can opt for any degree from a good college.

The aspirant can study either B.Com or B.Com Honors to study CA IPCC. The eligibility to join CA Intermediate (IPCC) is a pass in commerce graduation with 55% marks. So you can choose either B.Com or B.Com Honors to pursue CA IPCC in future. The CA is one of the highly demanding courses in India. There is lots of scope for the CA course. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is conducting the course and examinations. You can find the details in the ICAI website regarding the course.

Yes, of course you are eligible to apply for Chartered Accountant course after completing B.Com course. There is no issue you can operate any one course based on your Interest. The important thing is that you must score at least 55% of marks in B.Com to be directly eligible for Chartered Accountant Intermediate level.

There are 3 levels in CA. They are

>>CPT or foundation level
>>IPCC
>>Final level.

To become CA, you must complete all the three levels. ICAI conducts examinations twice in a year. Course materials will be given to candidates after enrollment to the course.

To apply for CPT, you must have done 12th class with any stream.

To apply for Intermediate or IPCC, you must have cleared CPT exam or must hold commerce degree. In the second case, you can skip CPT exam and directly join IPCC.

To apply for Final level, you must have done IPCC successfully.

Yes you can pursue CA after both B.Com or even B.Com(Hons).
As a matter of fact you can pursue CA even while doing B.Com or B.Com(Hons) at the same time.
All will need to do is attend articleship after your college lectures which is quite common these days for commerce students.
Both the degrees will prepare you equally for CA but I would suggest you to do B.Com(Hons) as on its own this degree has more value than B.Com if tt all you aare not able to crack CA.
