Re: Minimum percentage required in 12th to become IAS officer?

No, there is no such minimum required percentage in class 12th to become an IAS officer. It means if you got atleast 33% in your class 12th and declared as passed from a recognized board you are eligible to write the exam and become an IAS officer. The other crtiteria is that you should hold a bachelor degree from any recognized institution in a respective subject.

Just u need to pass 12 exam. And you need to complete graduation in any subject (professional/non professional) from any recognised Universities . Then apply for CSE UPSC examination. Remember you can't become IAS officer right after 12th. you must need a graduation. Best of luck.

Firstly, you have to give UPSC held Civil Services Examination and then you have to familiarize yourself with the pattern of the Exam.
Secondly, you have to pass three stages i.e., the First Stage is Prelims, second stage mains, and the third stage is Interview.
For Second stage you have to choose 2 optional subjects.

Re: Minimum percentage required in 12th to become IAS officer?

There is no minimum percentage criteria in 12th as well as graduation to become IAS officer.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. To become IAS you have to appear for Civil Service Exam. Civil Service Exam is conducted UPSC ( Union public Service Commission ) every year.

Eligibility to become IAS Officer :

Candidate must complete his/her graduation degree in any discipline from any recognised university. Candidates appearing in final year can also apply for IAS exam. But they have to produce their graduation degree at the time of Interview.

Candidate must be citizen of India.

Age of candidate not to be less than 21 years and not to be more than 30 years. Age relaxation is also provided as per government norms. % years age relaxation is provided to SC/ST candidates and 3 years to OBC Candidates.

It is very tough exam, so you have to study more than 12 hours a day and give your 100% in studies. It requires hard study and you need to join some coaching class because of high competition.

Selection Procedure :

->Preliminary Exam
->Main Exam
->Personal Interview

dear friend,

IAS stands for INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE. it is the service for which examinations are conducted by the UPSC and come under the civil service examination.
The minimum educational qualification required for the Civil services examination is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.Final year candidates are also allowed to appear for the examinations.

Being 10+2 student ,you are not eligible for the Civil services examinations.One thing more % of amrks secured in 10+2 doesnot play any role in eligibility for civil services examinations.

First do your graduation then think about the examinations.

The age limit for IAS is as below:

Civil services examination consists of three stages :

>>Civil services aptitude test

>>Main examination

>>Personal interview.

Re: Minimum percentage required in 12th to become IAS officer?

Hi,

You cannot apply for IAS exam just after passing class 12th.

Check the eligibility criteria to sit for CSAT exam .

Eligibility Criteria -

A bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution

Age should be between 21 -30 years.

So, you should first complete your graduation and then apply for CSAT exam for IAS.

Re: Minimum percentage required in 12th to become IAS officer?

there is no restriction of marks as such in IAS
but for good colleges you have to work hard as for IAs you have to get a degree
from a certified collage...
and no matter what you do you should aim for good marks in 12th...

Re: Minimum percentage required in 12th to become IAS officer?

hi dear,
There is no marks restriction for IAS.

Wheather, you score 40% or 90% in class 12 or Bachelor Degree or Master Degree or P.hd that does'nt matters.

Educational eligibility criteria is that candidate must have only passed Graduation in any field from any recognised institute, university of India.

And nothing else.

However, it is fact that priyority will given to candidates with good academic background, but thats a different matter. Becoming IAS officer is directly proportional to Hard work and Talent.

IF anybody have that two qualities then surely he will achieve success.

thanks
