How to apply for Ph.D course after completion of MA History? Can I apply for it or not? Can someone please provide me the complete information for the same? I just wanted to do the Ph.D course but am not sure what need to be followed.

Normally, most of the universities release notification for admission and you have to apply on a prescribed format according to the instructions. If you have got your 55% marks in your MA History then only you can apply for admission.

Selection is purely based on the performance in the entrance exam and interview. Those who have got NET/SET/JRF scores are exempted from written exam.

Procedure to apply for PhD course :-

- Most of the universities conduct written test followed by interview to select students for admission into PhD course.
- Hence you need to appear in the written test and score well to get admission in the university of your choice.
- However, there is no need to appear in written test if you had qualified in SET/NET/JRF/SRF Examinations of apex bodies such as CSIR/UGC/ICRA/ICMR/DBT and DST inspire fellowship only or completed M.Phil Degree.
- Almost each university conducts its own written test for PhD. course admission. SO choose universities and appear in their PhD entrance exams.
