I am MA Geography holder and willing to do PhD from Punjab University. Procedure to do PhD from University of Punjab? How much year it will take to do it?

It is very good to hear that you want to pursue Ph.D course after your MA degree course.
Now, to do Ph.D in the subject of Geography, you must have to gain a Masters degree in the relevant field from a recognized University. After that you must qualify in the UGC NET examination.
The eligibility criteria required to appear in the UGC NET examination is that a candidate must have completed Master's Degree course from a recognized University with scoring a minimum 55% of marks in it.
After qualifying in the NET examination, you can opt for the Ph.D course in the geography at Punjab University.
The duration of Ph.D course is around 2 to 5 years.

Those candidates who have completed master's degree in Geography with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university, are eligible to apply for PhD course in respective discipline.
Candidates, seeking admission into Punjab University to pursue PhD course, must have to appear in PU M.Phil and PhD Entrance Exam which is conducted by the Punjab University to enroll candidates into M.Phil and PhD courses.
Candidates will be provided admission strictly on the basis of merit ranks in the entrance examination.
In India the general course duration for PhD program is 3 years but it may vary widely, depending on the university's semester or quarter schedule and the doctoral program.
