Am i eligible to sit for CAT with 49.6% marks in Honours?
I have 49.6% in my honours paper. I want to know if i am eligible to sit for CAT
? Please help. |

Sorry, you are not eligible to appear for the CAT examination. CAT stands for Common Admission Test and it is the examination conducted for the admission of the candidates in the MBA courses.
The eligibility to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation from the recognised university with at least 50% aggregate and relaxation for the reserved candidates. So, if you belongs to open category you are not eligible to appear for the examination. |

CAT exam stands for Common Admission Test which is conducted through IIM for The candidates those who are interested for MBA ,eligibility criteria are as follows:
The candidates should be a graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks or in aggregate . The final year graduation students are also eligible to apply . There is no age limit for candidates. CAT stands for the Common Admission Test. This entrance test is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management for the MBA programs.
Eligibility criteria for the MBA course and CAT: >>Candidate must have done bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply for the exam. The minimum percentage of marks required for the CAT exam is 50% marks in bachelor's degree. Since, you have only 49.6% marks in bachelor's degree, you can not apply for the CAT examination. |

Eligibility criteria for the CAT exam:
Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply for the exam. The least academic percentage of marks required for the exam is 50% for candidates of all category. So, you can not apply for the CAT exam with 49.6% marks in Honors. |

No, you can't appear for CAT with less than 50% marks if you are a general category candidate. There will be possibility only when you belong to reserved category.
There is other option for you in GMAT if you have less than 50& marks. This score is also widely accepted by reputed management institutes. |

Eligibility Criteria Required to Appear in CAT Examination:
If you belong to General or Unreserved category, then I am sorry to say that you are not eligible. On the other hand, if you belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Ex-Servicemen Category then you may be eligible for appearing in CAT Examination. The basic percentage required is given below in detail. <> Minimum Percentage required (for Unreserved Category) - 50% marks or its equivalent CGPA <> Minimum Percentage required (for SC/ DA/ PWD/ ST) Category - 45% marks If you belong to SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ex-Servicemen Category, then I am sure you are certainly eligible to appear in CAT Examination. |
