Dear Sir, I want to get admission in IIT Roorkee to study for an MTech(Chemical Engineering) course. Can I know about the eligibility criteria for studying this course in this institute? Please let me know as soon as possible.

--- Eligibility to secure MTech(Chemical Engineering) admission in IIT Roorkee---

The candidate should have done Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university or Institute.

IIT Roorkee has a certain selection criteria procedure. IIT Roorkee offers admissions to candidates on the basis of GATE score.

Eligibility to apply for MTech ( Chemical Engineering) in IIT Roorkee:-

Candidates must have passed BE / BTech in a relevant fields.

Final year candidates are also eligible to apply provided they complete all the requirements of their qualifying examination before the date of registration.

Candidates having AMIE / AMIS / AMIIM / GRAD/ ETE, who possess BSc or diploma in engineering and have at least three years research, teaching or other professional experience at the submission of last date of application acquired in relevant field, are also eligible to apply for admission to MTech courses.

Qualifying marks for General and OBC category candidates:-

Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale in BE / BTech or equivalent examination.

Qualifying marks for SC/ ST / PWD category candidates:-

Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks or CGPA of 5.50 on a 10 point scale in BE / BTech or equivalent examination.

Basis of admission:-

Candidates will be admitted on the basis of GATE score and 10% of the total seats will be reserved for IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale.
