What would be better MTech or MS? How this change of specialization is going to affect in my higher studies?
Hello i am now in 8th semester of engineering, electrical & electronics branch. I am willing to do Masters preferably in electronics or computer science field but not in electrical field, so what would be better for me Mtech or MS. And how this change of specialization is going to affect in my higher studies?
thank you !! |

Re: What would be better MTech or MS? How this change of specialization is going to affect in my higher studies?
Both M.Tech. and M.S. options are good and it just depends on your interest as the course structure of M.Tech. is more job oriented while in the case of MS degree along with the course work which one completes in M.Tech. degree there is a bit more focus on the research work as well and hence MS courses can be the best option for those who are not sure whether to pursue higher studies or go for jobs after their Masters degree as in M.S. course get the taste of both the course work and the research work. Also, the duration of M.S. course can be upto 3 years which is 2 years in case of M.Tech. course.
So, you can opt for any of the two options as per your interest. Also, for pursuing these courses from top engineering colleges, you should appear and should qualify GATE with better ranks. Further, being a student of a B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, there should not be much problem in going for M.Tech./M.S. degree in Electronics discipline but if you are willing to switch to computer science discipline then you must be good with coding skills. |
