The full marks of the paper are 70 and all questions are compulsory. Candidates are asked to make suitable assumptions as and where necessary. Some of the questions on the paper are: state and prove the central limit theorem, define CDM and also state and prove its properties, define and classify random process, write the PDF for Rayleigh random variable and derive the corresponding CDF from it, sketch the PDF and CDF for a limit, what is moment generating function, what is the use of this function the functions and compare it with characteristics function, explain Total probability and Bayes’ theorem, explain cumulative distribution function and probability density function for random variable with their properties and ascertain whether a given function is a probability density function or not, explain central limit theorem with proof, define the terms such as random experiment, sample space, random process, random variable. Apart from theoretical questions, the paper also has a lot of mathematical problems.
