The course program of IETE AMIETE –ET includes Digital Signal Processing which is a subject centred on processing of signals that are used in various professions and domains. Signals in different media that require digital representation like sounds, voices, images, clippings, graphs, waves, symbols and time are studied in this subject. The course content stresses on the ways to decode signals and methods to convert them from one form to another for professional purpose. It is armed with special techniques to tap the information contained in the signal. This also helps in manipulation of signals and students are taught about the various approaches. This is a mathematics based subject and hence the processing involves thorough knowledge and practice in numerical problems and theorems.
