This paper deals specifically with certain concepts related to the mobile communication technology. The paper will have questions based on optical fibers, its structures, fabrication and wave guiding. This will contain definitions, laws and modes and configurations. It will also deal with different types of materials used and the properties of each kind of fiber. Another part of the paper will contain questions on the signal degradation in optical fibers. This will deal with Signal Distortion in Optical Waveguides, Pulse Broadening in Graded Index Waveguides and Attenuation. Topics like semiconductor physics, LASER diodes, light emitting diodes, photo detector noise, and the response time of detectors and so on will also be covered. Paper will focus on power launching as well. This will deal with source of the fiber power launching, fiber to fiber joints, lens schemes for coupling improvements etc. These complex theories will also be applied in certain problems that will be set in the paper as well.
