Electrical Technology is a subject based on basic electrical concepts required in electrical and mechanical engineering courses. The concepts related to current, voltage, power are generally discussed in the paper. The subject as it is conceptual; it needs to be studied with lots of attention. The course structure is based on general structure of electrical power systems, power transmission and distribution via overhead lines and underground cables, steam, hydel, gas, nuclear power generation, DC networks, kirchoff’s law, node voltage and mesh current methods, delta-star and star-delta conversion, superposition principle, single phase AC circuits, average and effective values of sinusoids, solutions of R, L, C series circuits, the j operators, Three phase AC circuits, magnetic circuits, transformers, induction motors, DC machines, electrical measurements and many more basic electrical details of instruments. So, it is evident from the paper that the subject needs lot of attention in circuits and functions of instruments. The paper has only one compulsory question that being question number 1 which has 14 questions of 1 mark (two questions having 7 sub-questions). In addition to that there are 7 more questions, but only 4 are required. Below are attached some of the previous year’s question papers.
