This paper concentrates on issues that cover the general underlying principles affecting all specialism. The SA5 finance paper will ask candidate what is meant by a risk-free rate of return, and will also ask to describe all assets assumed to be risk-free in practical work. The questions will also be about the various ways of taxing investing returns and taxation effect on investor behavior. The students are also trained in a manner so that they can demonstrate their knowledge about economic and commercial environment influences over the market. This will include central banks, government policy and main investor classes. The paper will test the ability of the candidate to show their knowledge on the fundamentals of share analysis and how to invest correctly and wisely.
