Full marks of such a paper are 100 to be solved in 3 hours. This exam papers usually contain 19 questions in total spread across three sections- Part A, Part B, Part C. Part A consists of 10 questions of 5 marks each, out of which six need to be answered. Part B consists of 6 questions of 10 marks each, out of which four need to be answered and Part C consists of 3 questions of 15 marks each, out of which two need to be answered. Questions may have sub-divisions with marks being divided among them. Some specimen questions are: application of the Greedy method to solve the Knapsack problem, explain Flow shop scheduling in detail, describe the tree traversal techniques and explain their application, explain Hash function with suitable example, describe briefly about optimal storage on tapes, explain Prim’s algorithm. There can also be short notes like those on sparse matrix, circular queue, etc.
