The P.G. and post B.Ed courses make it compulsory that candidates learn about the Tamil Nadu Recognised Private Schools Act(1973) and Rules (1974) that the government of Tamil Nadu initiated in 1973 and 1974 respectively. It is a mandatory measure taken up in favour of the state for candidates to stick to the rules and regulations and fulfil the qualifications expected of them when they join educational institutions as teaching staff. There is a strict framework of service matters and teaching guidelines that teaching as well as non-teaching staff have to abide by. The guidelines differ from elementary school to middle school and from middle school to high school. The education professionals including headmasters, principals, educational officers, board members and curriculum makers have their own set of directives following which they carry out their duties.
