University of Pune-Civil Engineering, 3rd Semester-Building materials and Construction Exam – Download Previous Year’s Question Papers
Civil Engineering is a subject that deals with the basic and advanced concepts related to the building of infrastructures. Whether it is a residential building or a mere escalator in a mall, this subject introduces the different concepts and theories of the intricacies of building along with the practical lessons of drawing, sketching and labelling of different parts of a building and more. Some of the topics in the course of study of civil engineering are various classification of buildings according to the National Building Code Act of 2005, Dry rubble masonry, Types of composite masonry, Casting procedures for reinforced concrete column, Important features of cavity walls, merits and demerits of precast concrete, materials used for flooring, different types of roofs, different types of doors and windows, Escalators, Elevators, General measures of fire safety, Methods of seasoning, various stages of construction, sketch and labelling of different parts of a building. The paper has got questions of 16 marks or 18 marks, which have sub-questions of different marks distribution. 3 questions from both the sections of this paper are compulsory.
