The Elements of Mechanical Engineering paper is held for a total duration of three hours and the paper gives you a scope of 100 marks. The full question paper is divided into two parts. Part 1 contains 4 questions and each consists of 20 marks and the same is with part 2. You need to answer at least 2 questions from each part and extra 1 from each part. Each question is divided into three sub parts which include 5 short answer type questions like fill in the blanks and multiple choices, a short question of 4-7 marks and a long question of 8-10 mark. The topics that are covered are heat, latent heat, temperature, saturation, photosynthesis process, boilers, pressure gauge, Babcock and Wilcox boiler. Turbines, different forms of energy and turbines and conversion from one form to other, thermodynamic cycle, diesel engines, stroke engines and topics like refrigerator, drilling machine, shouldering and milling are also covered.
