My friends and I are trying to decide between the IGCSE and CBSE exam bodies for our children. Please advice which is a better exam body / syllabus for us to choose from and why.

IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary.
Both boards are very different from each other.
IGCSE is an international board and its syllabus is designed in such way that helps students in better preparation of Olympiad examinations and entrance examinations conducted for admission in top universities of world and these entrance examinations are SAT, TOEFL,GRE and other.

CBSE is an Indian board whose syllabus are designed in such way that students to prepare well for admission in top colleges/universities of India.
Most of the entrance examination such as engineering and medical entrance examination in India are conducted on basis of syllabus of CBSE.

Also, IGCSE board will be much more expensive than CBSE for higher studies.
It will be better for any parent to continue education of children in IGCSE and continue their study till higher secondary then choice will be of the student whether the student want to continue with it or not.
