Sir
My son is 10 years old and he is now studying
in 5th class of ICSE Board. I would like to know
that in this age he can give any competitive exam?
Please tell me asap. Thank you.

There are very less competitive exams available for 5th standard and that too from ICSE board.

List of some entrance exams are:

Olympiads such as;

> Science

> Mathematics

> Computer

> Physics

> Chemistry

> Biology

> Astronomy

> Junior Science, etc.

Some other competitive exams are;

> General Scholarship Exam

> NTSE*

NOTE* - One can apply for NTSE after passing out class 8th or in the year when
he/she is going to appear for Class 8th examination.

Therefore, presently you are not eligible for NTSE.

However, If you study well, you will be eligible for exam after three years.

There is no such examination conducted for the student of class 5th. But there are scholarship and talent examination which is conducted by the private organisation, private teaching institute, etc.

So at this age and class there are no such kind of competitive examinations.

You can make your child to appear for Olympiad exams. To appear for Olympiad exam, your child should study in a school, which is registered at any Olympiad foundation, because students can appear for Olympiad exam only through their schools. If his school is registered at any Olympiad foundation, then he can appear for Olympiad exam in following subjects.
1. Mathematics
2. Science

It will be too early for your son to face competition.
But, some national and international level competitive exams are being conducted such as NTSE and Olympiad respectively.
Both exams needs candidate to have sharp brain to qualify.
Also, if you wish to send your ward to schools like Sainik school,Military school,RK mission and other some the best schools for kids ,then these schools also take competitive exams for candidates to take admission.
They conduct examination for admission in class VI&IX under secondary level.
You can put your son in these examination to check the potential.
