How does DU calculate cutoff marks for people who have taken commerce stream in their high school?

I had chosen commerce as my stream in high school. The subjects included Accounts ,Business Studies, Maths ,Economics and English. I wanted to know how DU calculates cutoffs. Is language included in calculating cutoffs or is it only the best of four core subjects?

For calculating the cutoff marks for admissions to undergraduate courses, the University of Delhi considers the "Best of Four" aggregate, which includes the marks obtained in the four core subjects related to the program you are applying for.

For Commerce stream, the four core subjects that are considered for calculating the "Best of Four" aggregate are usually:
  • Accountancy
  • Business Studies/Economics
  • Mathematics
  • English

The percentage marks in these four subjects are added to get the aggregate, which is then used to determine the cutoff for that particular program.

Language (English or Hindi) is not included in the "Best of Four" aggregate, but it is mandatory to have scored passing marks in English as a subject to be eligible for admission to any undergraduate course in Delhi University.

DU calculates cutoff marks for commerce stream students by taking the best of four subjects in Class 12th board examinations, which typically includes one language subject, Mathematics (if compulsory for the desired course), and any two academic or elective subjects relevant to commerce. The cutoff marks are determined by the individual college based on the total number of seats available and the number of applicants in each stream. The cutoffs are subject to change and meeting the cutoff requirement does not guarantee admission. Students should check the official website of the University of Delhi or the specific college they are interested in for the latest information on admission criteria and cutoff marks.

DU ( Delhi Unversity) Will calculate your best of four marks in any of five main subjects from your intermediate marks. if you scored more marks in language as compared to other subject your language marks will be calculated.
