A candidate must have finished the,10th grade

So, you are not eligible for the exam.

The candidate must additionally have scored at least 60% on their 9th Grade exam.
Also, the candidate must be a citizen of India.

The student should be below 18 years of age.

Yes, you are eligible to appear for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) if you are studying in 8th class. The NTSE is conducted for students studying in Class X, but the exam has a two-stage selection process. The Stage 1 of the exam is conducted at the state/UT level for students studying in Class X or its equivalent, and the Stage 2 of the exam is conducted at the national level for the students who qualify Stage 1.

Therefore, if you are studying in 8th class, you can start preparing for the NTSE exam by studying the syllabus of Class 9th and 10th. This will give you an edge in the exam as the questions in the NTSE are based on the syllabus of Class 9th and 10th. You can also refer to previous year question papers and study material available online to prepare for the exam.

1. The applicant must have received a minimum of 60 percent on the class IX test.

2. You must hold a degree that has been approved by the board. Students who have completed or are scheduled to complete the class 10th examination and are enrolled in Open Distance Learning (ODL) are qualified to take the NTSE exam.

No. You are not eligible for the NTSE exam.

Only candidates who are Indian citizens or candidates of Indian ancestry are eligible to sit the NTSE. The age requirement to take the NTSE is 18 years old. Candidates may sit for the exam if they are enrolled in an open school for class 10. Class IX applicants are also eligible to take the NTSE.
