I am studying 12th with Biology and want to apply for AIPMT. But, I am worry about age criteria of AIPMT. Can you please tell me what is the age criteria of AIPMT exam for a CBSE or BSEB candidate?

AIPMT stands for All India Pre Medical Test. Earlier it was conducted for selection of candidates for admission in MBBS and BDS courses in government medical courses. But it will not be conducted anymore and has been replaced by National Eligibility cum Entrance test which has following eligibility criteria:

*Candidate should have done 10+2 from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidate must have at least 50% marks in board exams.

*The minimum age limit for this exam is 17 years or more on 31st December of year of admission in MBBS course.

You must attain at least 17 years on 31st December of year of admission in MBBS.

The candidate should have completed 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS course.
The upper age limit is 25 years for general category and for SC/ST candidates 30 years.

Age criteria to apply for AIPMT:-

Minimum age 17,maximum age 25 till 31st December of the year of entrance.

The candidate must have passed the10+2 or its equivalent examination with physics, chemistry,Bio/Biotechnilogy with English.

The minimum Percentage for General categories is 50%, for SC/ST/OBC is 40% for general PH is 45% and for SC/ST/OBC Handicapped is 40%.

The candidate appearing for the qualifying exam can also apply.

Marks obtained in Maths shall not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS.

As you are interested to appear in AIPMT hence you need to follow the eligibility criteria given below:

Candidate must have Indian citizenship.

The minimum age of a candidate opting to appear for AIPMT examination should not be below 17 years and the maximum age should not exceed 25 years in order to be eligible to apply for the examination.

So, if you do fulfill the age criteria, you are very much eligible to appear for the examination.

First of all there will be no AIPMT examination, from next year as NEET will be conducted as common entrance examination for admission of candidates in medical courses in government as well as private colleges.

Candidates who have completed 12th standard with above 50% marks are eligible for AIPMT exam but your 12th standard subject are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For SC/ST candidate this percentage is reduced to 40%.

Your age should be in between 17 to 26 years.

The minimum age limit to get admission through NEET examination is that you must be 17 years or more on 31st December of year of admission in MBBS course.
